Here is what our students think about the Kaplan Summer
School
Kinga, 18 from Leeds. “The Summer School organised by
Kaplan Financial was a great experience for me. It gave me an
opportunity to learn the basics of accountancy and helped me find
out the different and most beneficial routes available to take in
order to become a qualified accountant.
There were a variety of tasks included in the Summer School which
helped me develop my personal skills such as building my
confidence, being able to communicate with others, successfully
work within a team and prepare and carry out a presentation in
front of an audience. These four days combined learning and having
a good time with new people made me realise that accountancy is
something I would really love to study.
Tutors were ready to support me with everything I needed to
successfully start the qualification. They helped me create a good
CV and then search for a suitable job and nearest centre in which I
can study.
I started my accountancy qualification a month after the Summer
School. I have also managed to find a job with a small accountancy
firm as a trainee accountant which enables me to earn while I
learn.
Now I know what I want to do with my future career therefore
not attending the Kaplan Financial Summer School would be the
biggest regret of my life."
Tom Grant, 17 from Milton Keynes. “I attended the Kaplan
event in the Summer School 2009 in Reading. This was an amazing
opportunity, which was a real eye-opener my potential career,
informing me the routes in, basic profit and loss accounts and cash
flow sheets (which was more entertaining than it may sound).
The CV service was also useful and really helped me in my
search to get a job. The advice given really was of such a high
standard, and was so beneficial.
The ‘Meet the Employers Evening’ in the following October was also
really useful. It provided the opportunity to get tips from and ask
questions of managers at renowned firms, this helped in getting
through the interview stages of the application process.
