Level 2 Factsheet
Effective Team Leadership is paramount to the productivity of any
organisation. Team leadership requires essential management skills
such as motivating and management of a team, to problem solving,
mentoring and decision making. The Apprenticeship will provide you
with the skills and attitude needed to perform effectively a team
leader.
You should choose this Apprenticeship if you are already practicing
as a Team Leader or those aspiring to become a team leader. The
Apprenticeship will provide you with a solid foundation on which to
develop your leadership skills, helping you to motivate team
members and achieve agreed targets.
Through gaining this qualification, you will be able to:
• Manage resources
• Provide effective leadership to team members
• Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
• Set objectives and plan your own work and that of their team
• Brief and motivate a team effectively
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific academic entry requirements, students should
be in full time employment (16hrs+) and have been in a suitable
role for 6 months or more.
How long does the course take?
There are no time restrictions so you can study at your own pace,
however the course typically takes students from 9- 12 months to
complete, but this will depend upon your experience and desire to
progress.
How will the qualification be assessed?
Each unit structure is made up from elements which are applicable
to a Team Leadership role and includes key skills such as
application of number and communication. All assessments are work
based and planned in advance to occur every 3-6 weeks. The learning
programme and each assessment will be loaded to the ENVQ system,
which is designed to create a portfolio of work based evidence
throughout the qualification. A review visit is carried out every
10 – 12 weeks with the Line Manager present.
Technical Certificate
On completion of the qualification you will receive a Technical
certificate in Team Leading.
Progression
After studying Levels 2 in Team Leading students often progress to
a higher level NVQ such as Management Level 3 or AAT
qualifications.
