Yet again apologies for a lonnnnnnng delay since last blog - May and the start of June are really busy times when you are a tutor at Kaplan as many of the various exams that students do are held around this time so we are teaching lots of revision courses.

Hi everyone,
This week we presented the shields to the winning schools and colleges for our 2 scholarships this year.
Joshua Precious from South Holderness Technology School was presented with the shield and certificate by centre manager for Hull, Sally Jones and the Headmaster Martin Cooper recieved the shield for the 2nd time in 2 years. The South Holderness Gazette came along from the local media. In Hull all 5 of the scholarship finalists have now been placed

Well it has been ages since I introduced myself on this blog and started to give you some insight into what might await you if you choose life as an accountant - I hope it whetted your appetite but if life as an auditor didn't sound like you then don't worry -that is just one option for accountnats to follow and there are many more - that is what makes it such a great profession to enter.

I would like to say a BIG well done and Good Luck to Nicole Ward who is starting a full time Accountancy position at Hall Liddy in Manchester today. Nicole will be starting the Foundation AAT qualification in September with Kaplan.
I would also like to say Congratulations to Danika Bradley who has been offered a position at Hitachi Europe in Bolton and has accepted. Danika will be starting AAT Technician Level with Kaplan in September. Well done Danika, and good luck.

Hello everyone,
Congradulations to our 2 scholarship winners from the 23rd March in Hull and 25th March in Grimsby. Both employer panels were very impressed with the standard of all the applicants.
Joshua Precious from South Holderness Technology College won the Hull scholarship.
James Fussey from John Leggott College Scunthorpe won the Grimsby scholarship.

The Manchester and Preston scholarship panel took place on Tuesday 23rd March 2010. There were six finalists that were selected to take part in the final interviews, four from Manchester and two from Preston. It was a very hard decision this year as all the applicants that attended were very strong candidates and were very ambitious.

Yesterday we had the final interviews to decide the Reading Scholarship winner.
It has been a closely fought competition - 9 candidates were invited in to give a presentation on "why I should win the Kaplan Scholarship". The judging panel were not given any information about the candidates, other than their name. So it was up to each individual to make the most of their 10 minute slot.

HI everyone this is my first ever blog, I have been the Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Humber region which includes East Yorkshire, Hull , North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire for the last 3 years.
